Bronze Collection

The "Bronze" collection is made up of familiar and sentimental imagery. There is a cool but classic style that resonates with the wearer. Each of these pairs of earrings is elegant enough for a night on the town, yet can also be worn with jeans and a tee-shirt.

The earrings are created from a recent discovery in the world of jewelry making called "Metal Clay". Each component is hand made from press molds created from vintage & antique buttons and found objects.

Metal Clay consists of very small particles of metal, mixed with an organic binder and water for use in making jewelrybeads and small sculptures.

After drying, the clay can be fired in a variety of ways such as in a
kiln, with a handheld gas torch, or on a gas stove, depending on the type of clay and the metal in it. The binder burns away, leaving the pure sintered metal. Shrinkage of between 8% and 30% occurs (depending on the product used).

Originating in Japan in 1990 by Mitsubishi, it was first only available in a fine silver and pure gold formulation. But over the past fifteen years Metal Clay's options has increased to copper, sterling silver, bronze, and stainless steel.
